Software Engineering Project Manager / Technical Project Manager
About the Role
LeapThought is looking for an experienced Technical Project Manager to lead complex, cloud-based software initiatives from concept through delivery. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, operations, and stakeholders—ensuring projects are delivered securely, efficiently, and aligned with real-world use cases.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive high-impact technology programs, particularly in infrastructure and transport environments.
What You’ll Do
- Lead end-to-end delivery of software and platform initiatives across cloud and enterprise environments
- Translate technical requirements into clear execution plans and measurable outcomes
- Partner with engineering, product, and external stakeholders to drive alignment and delivery
- Apply domain knowledge (e.g., transport operations, infrastructure workflows) to ensure practical, deployable solutions
- Drive continuous improvement across systems integration, workflows, and data quality
- Ensure compliance with security and governance standards (e.g., IM8, CIS, NIST)
- Implement and support CI/CD and modern DevOps practices
- Manage risks, dependencies, budgets, and timelines across multiple projects
- Lead incident reviews, root cause analysis, and reliability improvements
- Communicate effectively through stakeholder updates, reporting, and executive briefings
What We’re Looking For
- 10+ years of experience in IT, with strong experience managing technical projects
- Proven track record delivering large-scale, cloud-based or enterprise systems
- Experience in infrastructure, transport, or similar operational domains is highly valued
- Familiarity with BIM, digital delivery, or engineering systems is a plus
- Strong understanding of cloud platforms, DevOps practices, and security frameworks
- Ability to operate in fast-moving, cross-functional environments
Nice to Have
- Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, etc.)
- Experience working with government or regulated environments
