Written by Admin | December 2013

LeapThought, a New Zealand based IT services business, has added its support to the Government's cloud first policy by partnering with Revera to host its new local government service platform.

Previewed this week at ALGIM, a two-day local government conference held in Wellington, 'CitiZen' is a new cloud-based services platform which enables the public to access a wide range of council services online. Delivered using a software-as-a-service model, CitiZen is the first of a number of LeapThought cloud-based platforms to be hosted by Revera, the DIA appointed ICT vendor for all-of-government infrastructure services.

Ratnakar Garikipati, LeapThought Chief Executive Officer, said "By evaluating and selecting preferred ICT vendors, the Department of Internal Affairs has simplified the path to all-of-government cloud computing and enabled local innovation right across the value chain. CitiZen will bring significant efficiency and customer experience gains to local government and, through our partnership with Revera, it conforms to the Government's infrastructure and compliance requirements like data sovereignty".

Robin Cockayne, Revera Chief Executive Officer, said "Companies like LeapThought bring tremendous vision and expertise to developing platforms. As an all-of-government vendor, Revera is proud to partner with innovative local organizations like LeapThought to help deliver comprehensive, scalable solutions to government organizations across New Zealand."

The CitiZen platform is expected to formally launch during the next quarter and will build upon a period of strong growth for LeapThought that has included significant contracts with Auckland Transport, Mighty River Power, Rotorua District Council and Hamilton City Council.
